Hakea laurina, Pincushion hakea, is a splendid plant for sandy soils provided it has a bit of moisture in the soil. It tends to blow over in clay soils, maybe because it hasn’t got strong penetrating roots. From coastal Western Australia it is a wonderful winter flowering species.
